Pearl Grading

When purchasing pearls, it’s essential to understand that there is no global standard for grading. Each seller uses their own grading system, so one seller's AAA grade might differ from another’s, even if they share the same label. This means a pearl rated AAA by one merchant could be considered AA or even A by another, depending on the range and quality of pearls they offer. As a result, finding a reputable seller with extensive experience and a track record of reliable quality is more important than focusing solely on grading labels. It's best to choose a seller who offers transparency and guarantees for the quality of the pearls they sell.

Luster is the most critical aspect when grading pearls. It refers to the shine and reflective qualities of the pearl's surface, and it greatly impacts the overall appearance and beauty of the pearl. The higher the luster, the more desirable and valuable the pearl. Pearls with strong luster are often considered the best quality, regardless of other factors.
